SunHarvest

Terms of service

Version 1 · 24 September 2026 · applies to the SunHarvest web app at sunharvest.net and the SunHarvest Android app.

These terms are the agreement between you and SunHarvest. You accept them when you create an account, and they apply whenever you use the service. They are written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] before you rely on it.

1. The service

SunHarvest connects to a Tesla Powerwall through Tesla's Fleet API, with your consent. It shows what your system is doing and changes its settings according to the controls you use, the rules you write, or the AI plans you switch on.

SunHarvest is an independent product. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Tesla, Inc., Octopus Energy, or any AI provider or charger manufacturer it works with.

2. Your account

3. Controlling your Powerwall

This is the part to read carefully. When you use a control, enable a rule, or switch on AI mode, SunHarvest sends commands to your Powerwall on your behalf. These can change the backup reserve, operation mode, grid charging, export, Storm Watch, the off-grid vehicle reserve and the tariff the Powerwall uses, and can force the battery to export for a set time.

SunHarvest does not replace the safety systems built into your Powerwall and your installation, and never tries to override them.

4. AI mode and your API keys

AI mode uses an AI provider account and API key that you supply. Your use of that provider is under your own agreement with them, including their charges, limits and data terms. SunHarvest stores your key encrypted and uses it only to make plans for your site. AI output can be wrong; the plan is shown to you so you can check it, and your own rules take over if planning fails.

5. Plans, payment and cancelling

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

Security researchers are welcome. Please report issues as described in our security.txt.

7. Your data

Your energy data is yours. How we collect, use and delete it is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. You can delete your history or your whole account at any time from Settings › Data.

8. Changes and availability

We keep improving SunHarvest, so features may change. We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free. Tesla or other providers may also change or withdraw the interfaces SunHarvest relies on.

If these terms change materially, the version and date above change and we will tell you by email before the change takes effect. Carrying on using SunHarvest after that means you accept the new version; if you don't, you can delete your account at any time.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put things right.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Otherwise, SunHarvest is provided as it is. We are not liable for:

Our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to the amount you paid us for SunHarvest in that period.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live, and can bring a claim in your local courts.
